Logistics & Procurement Officer – International Development Project

About the role

The Logistics and Procurement Officer will support the ALIGN project, which aims to improve adolescent health and nutrition across up to 12 African countries. Working under the Project Manager at The Youth Café, the officer will ensure that all procurement and logistics activities are carried out efficiently, transparently and in line with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes for project goods and services, including tendering, vendor selection and contract administration.
• Coordinate the shipment, customs clearance and distribution of supplies to project sites in Kenya, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Mauritius, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or excesses.
• Ensure compliance with Global Financing Facility, World Bank and donor procurement guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with the Finance and Admin Officer, consortium partners and sub‑grant recipients to align budgeting and reporting.
• Provide logistical support for field missions, workshops and stakeholder meetings, including travel arrangements.
• Prepare regular procurement and logistics reports for the Project Manager and donor representatives.

Required profile

• Willingness to travel occasionally to target countries.
• Ability to work in a hybrid/online environment.
