Longtail Associate – Drive Seller Growth

About the role

Jumia is seeking a Longtail Associate to lead the incubation of newly acquired sellers and manage the long‑tail segment of thousands of small‑scale vendors. You will ensure new sellers achieve their first sale within 30 days and help scale their businesses on the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the incubation phase for new sellers, targeting first sales within 30 days.
• Oversee the long‑tail segment using automated tools, mass communication (Email/SMS/WhatsApp) and scalable support.
• Manage a team of Incubation Associates and Longtail account managers, setting KPIs for activation and retention.
• Promote Jumia growth tools such as Sponsored Products and Jumia Express among smaller vendors.
• Track New Seller Success Rate and Churn Rate via PowerBI and internal dashboards.
• Enhance self‑service capabilities to reduce manual interventions for long‑tail sellers.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in e‑commerce, operations management, or mass‑market business development.
• Proven experience managing large teams and high‑volume, automated operations.
• Bachelor’s degree from a top‑tier university.
• Strong analytical rigor with ability to work with large data sets in Excel and interpret PowerBI dashboards.
• Excellent English communication skills and a growth mindset focused on empowering small businesses.
