LPG Supervisor

About the role

A leading oil and gas company, recruited through Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for an LPG Supervisor for a fixed-term contract based in Nairobi. The supervisor ensures that liquefied petroleum gas is received, stored, packaged and distributed in bulk and in bottles so that customer orders are serviced in a timely, safe and responsible way.

Key responsibilities

• Keep all plant activities in line with company directives and rules.
• Coordinate and monitor implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 development programmes.
• Carry out hazard identification and risk analysis, develop safety barriers and ensure equipment integrity.
• With the Plant Manager's guidance, manage plant budgets, staff conditions and HR alignment, and oversee projects and maintenance plans.
• Match LPG stocks with market demand and implement stock controls, reporting daily, decadal and monthly stock data and reconciling SAP with physical operations.
• Review and improve distribution plans and ensure customer orders are serviced safely and on time with the Customer Care team.
• Oversee 24-hour high-risk marine LPG receipts and manage storage and transit risks, including fraud and pilferage.
• Liaise with external stakeholders such as competitors and government agencies while managing safety risks of hazardous products.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in a hydrocarbon depot environment.
• Ability to manage operational sites or production plants with minimal supervision.
• High integrity, ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, and willingness to work long hours.
