Machine Operator - Powder Plant

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, a manpower management firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting a skilled and experienced Machine Operator for a powder plant in Kisii, Kenya, on behalf of its client. The role covers operating the plant's powder machinery, keeping machines running smoothly, monitoring milk powder production and meeting production targets and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily production plans and material needs with the Production In-Charge and run production on assigned lines
• Take part in shift meetings led by the Production In-Charge and coordinate with Production Supervisors on labour availability
• Monitor work in progress, efficiency, consumption, scrap and waste, report on them and act on variances
• Check machinery before each shift and help packers with their duties
• Apply food safety standards, record CCPs, OPRPs and PRPs, and report incidents, accidents and non-conformities
• Follow EHS standards, attend morning briefings and assigned training, and give feedback to the Production Manager on improvements

Required profile

• Diploma in mechanical engineering or engineering from a recognised institution
• At least 2 years' experience in dry milk powder production
• Knowledge of machine operations and dry milk powder production
• Working knowledge of GMP requirements for food and dairy products and UHT facilities
• Familiarity with DDA regulations, the Dairy Industry Act, KBS standards and other relevant dairy regulations
