Market Category Manager – Agriculture Development (East Africa)

About the role

The Market Category Manager – Agriculture Development will lead East African Breweries PLC’s local sourcing strategy across East Africa. Based in Nairobi, the role sits within the Africa Center of Excellence and works closely with senior management, the procurement function, farmers, government bodies and value‑chain partners to secure sustainable supplies of sorghum, barley, maize and cassava.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the end‑to‑end local sourcing strategy for key agricultural commodities.
• Design, manage and deliver projects that strengthen supply chains for sorghum, barley, maize and cassava.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including the Head of Procurement, Market Supply Chain Directors and the Africa Source Center of Excellence.
• Engage external partners such as farmers, NGOs, government agencies and policy makers to align sourcing initiatives with regional objectives.
• Monitor performance against local sourcing targets and report progress to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in agricultural sourcing, supply‑chain management or related fields.
• Strong understanding of East African agricultural markets and regulatory environments.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build multi‑sector partnerships.
• Excellent project management and analytical skills.
