Marketing Intern

About the role

This internship offers a hands‑on experience in driving brand visibility for Mukuru, a fintech company operating in Kenya. You will work closely with the Country Manager and the marketing team to design and execute community‑focused campaigns and manage the brand’s social media presence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute on‑the‑ground activations, community‑based campaigns and events.
• Represent Mukuru at campuses, markets and community gatherings, supporting customer onboarding.
• Manage and grow Mukuru Kenya’s social media platforms, creating a monthly content calendar.
• Produce engaging visual and video content, capture real customer stories, and maintain a brand‑aligned content library.
• Track campaign performance, monitor growth metrics, and generate market insights.
• Collaborate with central marketing to align local activities with broader brand strategy.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Swahili a plus).
• Active interest or presence on social media platforms.
• Basic design or content‑creation abilities.
