Mathematics Teacher (IB MYP & DP)

About the role

The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi is seeking a Mathematics Teacher to deliver the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The role focuses on inquiry‑driven instruction that develops students' mathematical reasoning, problem‑solving and critical thinking within a multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons for IB MYP and DP Mathematics.
• Design inquiry‑based learning experiences aligned with IB frameworks.
• Create schemes of work, unit plans and assessments that meet IB standards.
• Foster analytical thinking, modelling and real‑world application of mathematics.
• Prepare students for internal and external IB assessments, including coursework and examinations.
• Monitor progress and provide timely feedback using IB assessment criteria.
• Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and assessment.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and curriculum development.
• Promote academic honesty and uphold IB Learner Profile attributes.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, mentorship and school events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics or Education.
• Experience teaching IB Mathematics at secondary level is preferred.
