Maths & SEN Teacher

About the role

This part‑time position combines teaching mathematics and providing special education needs (SEN) support within Scoil Aireagail. The role is a fixed‑term, job‑share appointment covering 12 hours per week (2 hours of maths and 10 hours of SEN).

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging mathematics lessons for designated classes.
• Provide tailored SEN support to students, adapting resources and strategies to individual needs.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum and SEN guidelines.
• Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and report outcomes to senior staff.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive support network.
• Participate in professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Teaching Council of Ireland (essential).
• Qualified teacher with a degree or postgraduate diploma in education.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Special Education Needs or Learning Support is an advantage.
• Demonstrated competence in professional knowledge, practice, communication, and self‑management.
