Medical Receptionist – Bilingual Hmong

About the role

The Medical Receptionist provides front‑office support in a busy healthcare setting, ensuring patients receive courteous service from arrival to discharge. The role requires bilingual communication in Hmong and English and strict adherence to privacy and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, collect and verify insurance information, and register them in the system.
• Answer phones, manage appointment books, confirm appointments, and follow up on no‑shows or cancellations.
• Handle cash, daily bookkeeping, and process patient payments.
• Maintain patient charts, file, scan, and update records; pull and provide medical records as needed.
• Assist patients with forms, Patient Portal usage, and obtain external records for care.
• Respond to voicemails, faxes, emails, and portal messages; keep the front office clean and stocked.
• Travel between clinic locations to provide coverage when required.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and internal policies at all times.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of administrative, clinical, or customer‑service experience.
• Fluent verbal communication in both Hmong and English.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience using Electronic Health Record systems such as IMS, EPIC, and Dentrix.
