Medical Receptionist I – Bilingual Spanish

About the role

The Medical Receptionist I provides front‑desk support in a busy healthcare setting, greeting patients, handling insurance information, and ensuring smooth appointment flow. This bilingual position requires fluency in Spanish and English to assist a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, collect and verify insurance details, and register them in the system.
• Answer phone calls, manage appointment books, confirm appointments, and follow up on no‑shows or cancellations.
• Handle cash, daily bookkeeping, and process patient payments.
• Maintain patient charts, scan, file, and update records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Assist patients with forms, portal usage, and obtaining external medical records.
• Stock front‑office supplies, monitor faxes, and respond to voicemails, emails, and portal messages.
• Provide coverage at other clinic locations as needed.
• Uphold a clean, friendly environment for providers and patients.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of administrative, clinical, or customer‑service experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to learn and use Electronic Health Record systems such as IMS, EPIC, and Dentrix.
