Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer will support the Nourishing Prosperity Alliance Forage project in Kenya by ensuring high‑quality data collection, management, analysis, reporting and learning across all project activities. Working closely with regional teams in Ethiopia and Zambia, the officer will help drive evidence‑based decision‑making and adaptive management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate routine monitoring activities for farmer trainings, feeding trials, business development sessions and partner investments.
• Conduct field visits to verify reported results, assess data quality and provide feedback to technical teams.
• Develop, review and improve MEL tools, indicator reference sheets, reporting templates and data collection instruments.
• Design and implement efficient data collection workflows and ensure timely entry of data into the project database.
• Validate and clean datasets in collaboration with data entry personnel before reporting.

Required profile

• Qualified candidates with experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning for development projects.
• Ability to travel for field monitoring visits across project sites.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
