Múinteoir RBO agus Eolaíochta – Maternity Cover

About the role

This position is a specific‑purpose maternity‑cover role at Gaelcholáiste Cheatharlach. The successful candidate will teach both RBO (special educational needs) and Science through Irish, delivering 16 hours of instruction per week.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess RBO and Science lessons in Irish, following the national curriculum and school policies.
• Adapt teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of learners, especially those with special educational needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and support staff to monitor student progress and implement individualized learning plans.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment outcomes and lesson plans.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and school events.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Teaching Council of Ireland (essential).
• Qualified teacher status with appropriate teaching qualifications for Science and/or Special Education.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Special Education Needs/Learning Support is an advantage.
• Ability to teach through Irish and demonstrate strong knowledge of the subject matter.
• Commitment to the key teaching competences: professional knowledge, practice, communication and self‑management.
