Part-Time Program Finance Contractor – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Program Finance Contractor to support our Water Programs team. Working remotely (preferably from Kenya or elsewhere in Africa), you will dedicate an average of 16 hours per week to audit, compliance and misconduct management for charity: water grants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the audit process for up to 12 active charity: water grant audits, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Review partner compliance documentation, identify gaps and recommend follow‑up actions to the Grants team.
• Coordinate the end‑to‑end misconduct and risk management process, including case intake, documentation, analysis and progression through each stage.
• Maintain regular communication with the Grants team, providing updates at key decision points.
• Submit a weekly time tracker to the contract manager for transparency and flexibility.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial audit, grant compliance or risk management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• Ability to work independently (≈70 %) and collaboratively (≈30 %) with a remote team.
• Comfortable working across US and African time zones.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet audit schedules and reporting deadlines.
