Patient Account Representative II (Corporate)

About the role

The Patient Account Representative II (Corporate) works in the Business Office of Covenant Health, handling patient accounts according to established policies and procedures. This full‑time, day‑shift position provides training and support to Level I staff and resolves complex billing issues with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile patient accounts while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, HIPAA, HCFA, TennCare, and third‑party payer guidelines.
• Assist the Collection Supervisor in identifying and addressing account issues.
• Interpret revenue cycle procedures and apply them accurately.
• Provide training, mentorship, and problem‑solving assistance to Patient Account Representative Level I staff.
• Handle complex billing inquiries and resolve them efficiently.
• Adhere to departmental policies, quality‑assurance programs, safety, and infection‑control standards.
• Proactively perform additional tasks to meet department needs while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.

Required profile

• Experience as a Patient Account Representative Level I with no current disciplinary actions.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare revenue‑cycle regulations and payer requirements.
• Ability to work independently, seek guidance when needed, and communicate effectively.
• Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to organizational values.

Required skills
