Phlebotomist – Blood Collections Specialist 1 – Mobile

About the role

The Blood Bank of Hawaii is seeking a Mobile Phlebotomist – Blood Collections Specialist 1 to support blood drives across Oahu and neighboring islands. You will travel to schools, offices, churches and other sites to set up equipment, draw blood, and ensure a safe, positive experience for donors.

Key responsibilities

• Verify donor identification, conduct interviews, record data, check vital signs and perform hemoglobin tests.
• Draw blood, label and document blood bags and samples according to SOPs.
• Guide donors through the donation process, provide post‑donation instructions and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Set up and break down mobile drive sites, maintain cleanliness and restock supplies.
• Perform quality‑control checks on equipment, reagents and techniques.
• Drive vehicles to transport staff, supplies and equipment to mobile locations.
• Participate in ongoing training and stay current on blood procurement safety practices.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred; paid training provided for qualified candidates.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent listening ability and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle safely.
