Pricing Specialist

About the role

The Pricing Specialist will join Kenya Tradex’s logistics team in Mombasa on a contract basis. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining competitive freight and logistics pricing across sea, air, road, and cross‑border services.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze market rates, carrier tariffs and operational costs to produce accurate quotations.
• Prepare and update rate databases, tender responses and pricing performance reports.
• Collaborate with sales, operations and finance to ensure pricing aligns with business objectives and profitability.
• Negotiate rates with vendors, carriers and customers, clarifying requirements and supporting service standards.
• Identify pricing optimisation opportunities through regular performance reviews.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to interpret market data and profitability metrics.
• Foundational finance knowledge for pricing models, margins and cost allocation.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction.
• Customer‑service orientation to handle pricing inquiries and support client decisions.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Business, Logistics, Finance or a related field (preferred).
• Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding or supply‑chain pricing is highly beneficial.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and other data‑management tools for rate analysis and reporting.
