Principal Human Resource Management and Development Officer

About the role

The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development is seeking a senior HR professional to lead the development, implementation and review of human resource strategies, policies and programmes. This permanent position will support the Institute’s objectives and comply with government requirements while driving organisational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review HR management strategies, policies, procedures and programmes aligned with Institute goals and government regulations.
• Undertake workforce planning, job analysis and specification reviews, providing competency advice for effective staffing.
• Conduct recruitment and selection processes in line with approved establishment and policies.
• Perform training needs analysis, develop training projections and coordinate staff training and capacity development programmes.
• Coordinate staff performance management, including performance contracting, appraisal and reporting.
• Maintain accurate, confidential HR records and consolidate information for payroll processing.
• Administer employee benefits, welfare schemes and provide guidance on counselling and support services.
• Provide secretariat services to the Human Resource Advisory Committee, preparing agendas, minutes and follow‑up reports.
• Prepare periodic and ad‑hoc HR reports, offering advice to management on appropriate interventions.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to further the Institute’s mandate.
