Principal Supply Chain Management Officer

About the role

The Principal Supply Chain Management Officer will work under the Deputy Director of Supply Chain Management to implement procurement plans and strategies in line with the Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2015.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate annual procurement and disposal plans and ensure their implementation.
• Coordinate procurement and disposal activities across the Authority.
• Prepare contract documents for goods, works and services and act as custodian of these documents.
• Liaise with user departments to ensure effective contract implementation.
• Provide secretariat support to procurement‑related committees.
• Coordinate asset disposal activities and prepare statutory reports to PPRA.
• Offer professional advice on procurement and disposal matters.
• Review the Authority’s procurement needs.

Required profile

• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience in a public or private institution, including three (3) years in a senior management role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Studies or related field.
• Master’s degree in supply chain management, logistics or a related discipline is preferred.
• Membership in a professional body such as KISM or CIPS in good standing.
• Completion of a management course of at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Fulfilment of the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
