Procurement Associate – Kenya Field Office

About the role

The Procurement Associate will manage IPA Kenya’s procurement functions, overseeing both transactional buying and strategic sourcing of specialized service providers in complex environments.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee full‑cycle procurement including specification, requisition review, vendor sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award.
• Maintain departmental budgeting, goal setting, and tracking of procurement plans.
• Lead strategic sourcing: market research, supplier qualification, risk register maintenance, and commercial negotiations.
• Supervise, coach and develop the procurement team and act as the main contact for projects, finance and legal.
• Manage inventory, asset register, tagging, insurance, leasing and disposal processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, procurement, business administration or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, KISM) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics, including complex or strategic sourcing.
• Experience sourcing vendors in high‑risk or complex operating environments.
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, contract management, risk management and stakeholder coordination.
