Procurement Specialist

About the role

The client, a sustainability‑focused manufacturing business operating across Kenya and international markets, seeks a Procurement Specialist to evaluate and optimise its supply‑chain processes. Reporting directly to the CEO, the specialist will lead a comprehensive review of procurement activities, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and design a strategic roadmap for improved supplier management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a thorough assessment of current procurement processes, controls, and operating practices.
• Analyse historical spend data to pinpoint efficiency gains and cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Evaluate supplier performance, contract structures, and sourcing strategies.
• Identify priority vendors and develop negotiation tactics to enhance commercial outcomes.
• Design a procurement improvement roadmap with clear implementation recommendations.
• Establish governance, supplier‑management, and sourcing frameworks aligned with business needs.
• Present findings, recommendations, and projected savings to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading procurement transformation, optimisation, or cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Background in manufacturing, industrial, or supply‑chain‑intensive environments.
• Track record of delivering measurable procurement savings and supplier‑performance improvements.
• Experience reviewing procurement operating models, sourcing practices, and vendor‑management processes.
• Ability to work with both local and international suppliers.

Required skills
