Product Research Manager

About the role

The Product Research Manager will lead product research initiatives at Jacaranda Health, designing and conducting mixed‑methods studies, analysing usage data, and translating insights into product decisions. This full‑time, onsite role is based in Nairobi and reports to senior technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute mixed‑methods research (usability testing, surveys, experiments, engagement analysis) across key product lines.
• Translate product usage data and research findings into actionable recommendations for product, engineering, and design teams.
• Prioritise research questions, balancing depth of study with product delivery timelines.
• Develop and own the operating model for product research, including intake processes, templates, and documentation standards.
• Partner with product, tech, medical, and data leads to embed research into sprint planning and roadmap reviews.
• Hire, mentor, and manage 1‑2 Product Research Analysts as the function scales.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in product, UX, or mixed‑methods research, preferably in digital health or behavior‑change products.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in HCI, behavioral science, public health, or a related field preferred.

Required skills

• Strong quantitative literacy for analysing engagement, retention, and usage data.
• Proficiency in qualitative methods such as usability testing and interviews.
• Experience building and managing a research practice, including process design and prioritisation.
• Ability to influence product decisions and work closely with cross‑functional agile teams.
