Professor of AI & Machine Learning (Full‑time)

About the role

The Institute seeks senior academics to lead AI and Machine Learning programmes. The position involves teaching, supervising students, conducting high‑impact research, and contributing to departmental activities on‑site in Konza City.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver AI and Machine Learning curricula, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Lead research partnerships and secure external funding at national, regional and international levels.
• Supervise doctoral and master’s theses, internships and research projects.
• Mentor junior faculty and students, fostering a vibrant academic environment.
• Champion dissemination of research outputs and collaborate with industry for technology transfer and commercialization.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline from an accredited university.
• At least five years of experience as an Associate Professor or nine years of research experience.
• Minimum 60 publications (40 in refereed journals) and supervision of at least ten doctoral candidates.
• Evidence of patents or commercialised innovations is an advantage.
• Membership in a relevant professional body and compliance with Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution.
