Program Analyst – Youth Engagement & Civil Society

About the role

UN Women is seeking a Program Analyst to join its Civil Society Division in Nairobi. The role will support youth engagement, strengthen partnerships with youth‑ and girl‑led organisations, and contribute to knowledge generation and meaningful participation of young people in global and intergovernmental processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support outreach and engagement with youth and adolescent constituencies.
• Contribute to the implementation of youth‑focused programmes and initiatives.
• Develop knowledge products related to youth participation and gender equality.
• Assist in strengthening the meaningful participation of young people in multi‑stakeholder and intergovernmental processes.
• Engage with youth‑led and girl‑led organisations and civil society partners, organising outreach meetings, consultations and brainstorming sessions.
• Promote collaboration among youth organisations to enhance communication and collective action.
• Prepare briefing notes, background papers and analytical materials for the Civil Society Division.
• Develop communication materials highlighting youth engagement and programme achievements.
• Support safeguarding plans for youth and adolescent programmes and coordinate activities with internal and external partners.
• Promote volunteerism values through participation in UNV activities and contribute related articles and stories.

Required profile

• Experience in youth engagement, civil society partnership development, research and knowledge management.
• Familiarity with gender equality and women’s empowerment initiatives.
• Ability to produce briefing notes, background papers and communication materials.
• Experience supporting safeguarding and programme coordination activities.
