Program Officer – Food & Cash Assistance

About the role

The Program Officer will support the Food & Cash Assistance sector in developing high‑quality proposals, managing donor grants, and ensuring effective programme implementation across Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Sector Lead in drafting concept notes, proposals, budgets and related documents for new and existing projects.
• Coordinate with technical, finance, MEAL, operations and support teams to gather inputs for proposal development and ensure alignment with donor priorities and World Vision standards.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual donor reports, success stories and programme updates.
• Maintain organized programme files, grant documentation and project records, and support the development of SOPs and risk registers.
• Monitor project progress, deliverables and milestones, and assist in programme review meetings.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations, World Vision policies and follow up on audit findings and recommendations.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Agriculture or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in food and cash assistance programming, proposal development and donor reporting, preferably with an NGO or humanitarian organization.
• Strong analytical, coordination and report‑writing skills, with ability to work under pressure in crisis situations.
• Fluent English (verbal and written); Arabic is an advantage.
