Project Commercial Head – Solar & Substation EPC

About the role

The Project Commercial Head will provide independent commercial review, control and advisory support across Solar EPC, Substation EPC and large MEP projects, ensuring profitability and protecting margins.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly profitability forecasts, track revenue, cost, margin and programme against approved budgets, and monitor cost‑to‑complete in Orion/ERP.
• Identify and quantify variations, claims, and entitlements; maintain an entitlement register and support final accounts and recovery from subcontractors.
• Manage invoicing, collections and cash‑flow forecasts, monitor debtors, retention and bonds, and escalate overdue payments.
• Maintain a commercial risk register, monitor exposure to liquidated damages, FX, and contract milestones, and review project instructions for commercial impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Commercial Management, Engineering, Finance or related field.
• Strong experience in commercial management of EPC/construction projects, preferably in Solar, Substation or large MEP.
• Proven track record in profitability, cost control, forecasting, variations, claims and cash‑flow management.
• Practical knowledge of FIDIC or equivalent EPC contracts and experience with utilities or infrastructure projects.
