Project Livelihoods Officer

About the role

The Project Livelihoods Officer provides technical support for livelihood initiatives under RefuSHE’s Self‑Reliance Program, focusing on income generation, financial inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable women and persons with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in planning and rollout of livelihood activities, including participant selection, orientation and training.
• Develop and monitor business plans and financial records with participants, providing mentorship and follow‑up visits.
• Maintain records of WAG loans, repayments and enterprise performance, and support documentation for donor reporting.
• Provide one‑on‑one coaching on business management, savings and marketing, and facilitate group learning sessions.
• Collect and analyse data on participant progress, prepare monthly and quarterly reports, and contribute to donor reports.
• Liaise with other departments, represent the organization in local networks and support partnership development with micro‑finance institutions and training centres.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Community Development or related field.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in livelihoods, micro‑enterprise or economic empowerment programmes.
• Strong understanding of financial inclusion, value chains and gender‑responsive programming.
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching and data management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
