Prompt Engineer

About the role

MOGO Kenya is seeking a full‑time Prompt Engineer to design, test and optimise prompts for AI language models that support internal teams across operations, customer support, risk analysis and marketing. Based onsite in Nairobi County, you will work closely with product, data and operations teams to ensure AI tools are reliable, safe and aligned with the company’s mission of financial inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into prompt templates for large language models.
• Run experiments, A/B tests and refine outputs for accuracy, clarity and policy compliance.
• Collaborate with product, data and operations teams to identify use cases and document best practices.
• Monitor AI performance, gather user feedback and recommend improvements.
• Ensure prompts and AI workflows adhere to data‑privacy, ethical AI and quality‑assurance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Linguistics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with experience in experimentation.
• Excellent written English communication for documenting instructions and guidelines.
• Experience in financial services or fintech in Kenya is a plus.
