About the role
The City of Poquoson is seeking a reliable, safety‑focused Equipment Operator II to support public works projects. You will operate a variety of light to medium duty equipment, helping maintain roads, move earth, and manage site logistics.
Key responsibilities
- Operate light and medium duty construction and specialty equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
- Assist with road maintenance, earth‑moving, and site‑logistics tasks.
- Follow all safety regulations and city policies.
- Document equipment usage and maintenance activities.
Required profile
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Full‑time availability; non‑exempt status.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Required skills
