Pupillage – Legal Trainee Position

About the role

GNN Advocates is offering a comprehensive pupillage programme for recent law graduates. As a legal trainee you will work alongside experienced lawyers, gaining practical exposure to a variety of legal matters in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on case law, statutes and regulations to support ongoing matters.
• Assist senior lawyers in drafting pleadings, contracts, legal opinions and correspondence.
• Observe court proceedings, hearings and client meetings to develop advocacy and courtroom etiquette.
• Interact with clients to gather information, provide case updates and support case management.
• Help organise case files, review documents and maintain accurate case records.
• Provide administrative support such as scheduling, calendar management and preparation of meeting materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognised institution.
• Proof of admission to the Advocate Training Programme at the Kenya School of Law.
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to professionalism, integrity and ethical conduct.
