QA & Cold Chain Manager – Berries

About the role

This role owns quality assurance and cold‑chain performance from field harvest through to market arrival for four berry crops, building systems, measuring performance and closing the loop on rejects and claims.

Key responsibilities

• Own QA and cold‑chain performance across blueberry, blackberry, raspberry and strawberry from field to market.
• Develop and maintain QA protocols, grade standards, shelf‑life programme and cold‑chain mapping with target and tolerance at every step.
• Monitor temperature and humidity using data loggers and real‑time sensors across pre‑cool, storage and transport.
• Conduct pack‑out audits, investigate rejects and claims, and produce weekly QA and cold‑chain dashboards for the GM and CEO.
• Lead compliance with GlobalG.A.P., BRC, GRASP and HACCP and act as audit lead.
• Build and lead the QA team covering field, packhouse and cold store.

Required profile

• Degree in food science, horticulture, agriculture or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in QA/cold‑chain for fresh produce export, preferably berries or soft fruit.
• Working knowledge of GlobalG.A.P., BRC and HACCP standards.
• Strong English; Swahili a plus.
