Quality Controller

About the role

Kenchic PLC is looking for a diligent, detail-oriented Quality Controller to join its Quality Assurance Department. The role covers quality conformance checks and inspections of ingredients, raw materials, packaging materials, in-process and finished products, ensuring all products meet food safety and quality requirements while promoting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor quality and food safety requirements across receiving, production, storage and dispatch.
• Carry out real-time quality checks, sampling, laboratory testing and sensory evaluations.
• Keep documentation accurate, maintain traceability and report product quality and process deviations on time.
• Investigate product nonconformities and customer complaints, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Take part in new product development, including testing, reporting and specification development.
• Analyse statistical quality data and recommend corrective and preventive actions to the Quality Assurance and Systems Manager.
• Conduct internal audits, monitor GMP and hygiene compliance and ensure sanitation schedules are met.
• Manage QA programmes, schedules and records, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Deliver food safety and quality training to teams and lead quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree is an added advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience in the FMCG industry.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of FSSC 22000, quality management systems and HACCP principles.
• Statistical analysis and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, Good Laboratory Practices and quality assurance methods.
