Environment Health Safety & Sustainability Coordinator

About the role

The EHS & Sustainability Coordinator will manage Capwell’s health and safety systems, ensure compliance with Kenyan legislation, and promote a strong safety culture across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the designated Competent Person for safety, maintaining records and preventing risks.
• Develop, maintain and continuously improve the health and safety management system and related platforms.
• Lead H&S training, conduct risk assessments, emergency planning and incident investigations.
• Coordinate audits, manage safety supplies procurement, and ensure policy compliance with legal standards.
• Serve as the primary health and safety contact, liaise with external bodies such as DOSH, and support wellbeing initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Environmental Management or Safety.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar EHS role.
• Deep understanding of Kenyan safety legislation.
• Full, clean driving licence and ability to work flexible hours and travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Strong planning, reporting and workload organisation abilities.
