Quantitative Field Interviewers - INNOVATE Project

About the role

The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is recruiting Quantitative Field Interviewers to support data collection for its INNOVATE project, which strengthens vaccine safety surveillance through integrated population-based and hospital surveillance in the Korogocho and Viwandani study sites. The work takes place between September and October 2026, and only residents of Nairobi County are eligible.

Key responsibilities

• Attend every day of training and data collection.
• Obtain and document informed consent from study participants before interviews.
• List all existing structures and rentable rooms in the study sites.
• Conduct and record interviews with respondents using tablets.
• Take part in daily debrief meetings.
• Care for the APHRC data collection equipment during field work.
• Follow safeguarding procedures throughout data engagement.
• Carry out any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor during the contract period.

Required profile

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C Plain.
• Experience with electronic data capture methods such as survey CTO and tablet devices.
• Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili.
• Available to work full-time for the duration of the project.
• Previous experience in Korogocho and Viwandani is an added advantage.
