Quantity Surveyor – Construction & Facility Management

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a leading facility management and construction services firm in Nairobi. The role involves overseeing project scoping, preparing bills of quantities, managing costs, and supporting business development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender and contract documents, including detailed bills of quantities.
• Conduct cost analysis for repair, maintenance, and new projects, and produce accurate quotations.
• Perform feasibility studies, risk assessments, and value management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain cost models, rate databases, and pricing strategies.
• Allocate work to subcontractors, advise on contractual claims, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Track project progress, prepare budget estimates, and generate cost vs. budget reports for senior management.
• Lead market research, identify tender opportunities, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create competitive proposals.
• Build and sustain relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications from recognized industry bodies.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management within construction or facility management.
• Strong numerical, financial, and analytical abilities.
• Proactive, goal‑oriented, and comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams.
