Quantity Surveyor – Roads & Bridges

About the role

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor specialized in roads and bridges to join our team in Nairobi. The role involves managing all cost aspects of civil engineering projects from initial estimates through to final accounts, ensuring value for money and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Conduct feasibility studies to estimate material, time and labour requirements.
• Perform cost analysis and cost control across all project sites.
• Carry out regular site supervisory visits to monitor execution.
• Manage project planning, monitoring, evaluation and risk/value management.
• Prepare and analyse costing for tenders and advise on contractual claims.
• Assist Contracts Engineer with tender estimates and represent the company during pre‑tender site visits.
• Evaluate prices for variations and maintain records of calculations.
• Ensure compliance with QSHE procedures and report site activities to the Technical Manager.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a Higher Diploma in Roads Construction.
• Formal training or qualification in project management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within large public or private organisations.
• Strong budget handling and organizational abilities.
• Good understanding of construction regulations and legal requirements.
