Recreation Services Manager

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Recreation Services Manager to lead morale, welfare, and recreation (MWR) programs for a US Navy installation on Diego Garcia. The role ensures safe, engaging, and high‑quality recreational activities for service members and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all MWR programs, resale operations, and recreational activities to meet community needs.
• Ensure compliance with CNICINST 1710.3 hazardous‑material handling standards and maintain CPR certification for relevant staff.
• Train employees on Navy MWR Star Service standards and the Achieving Extraordinary Customer Relations (AECR) course.
• Provide 24‑hour on‑call availability or arrange an alternate within one hour for emergencies.
• Act as a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor and deliver required training.
• Officiate sports leagues (soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, flag football) and ensure fair competition.
• Plan, promote, and execute diverse recreational events for personnel and families.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance morale initiatives and monitor facility usage.
• Manage budgets, financial records, and resources to maintain fiscal responsibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports management, business administration, or related field, or three years of relevant experience.
• At least five years of specialized experience in a Non‑Appropriated Funds Instrumentality (NAFI) or comparable civilian management role.
• Ability to obtain or maintain certification as an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor.
