Refrigeration Technician

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Refrigeration Technician based along Thika Road. The role covers the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings.

Key responsibilities

• Install refrigeration units, chillers, air conditioning systems and associated components, ensuring correct sizing, placement and mounting.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance such as filter cleaning, refrigerant checks and control testing.
• Troubleshoot faults using diagnostic tools, interpret error codes and sensor data, and replace or repair compressors, motors, thermostats, fans, solenoids, expansion valves and wiring.
• Perform soldering, brazing or piping work to fix leaks or reconnect damaged lines.
• Test systems after repair or installation and calibrate temperature, airflow and pressure controls.
• Respond to urgent service calls and on-call after-hours or weekend shifts.
• Maintain service logs, maintenance reports and repair records, and keep clients informed.
• Follow safety codes and use PPE when handling refrigerants and electrical components.
• Track inventory of parts and tools and keep them clean and secure.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Valid HVAC certification from a recognised institution.
• Strong knowledge of the refrigeration cycle, components and safety practices.
• Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces or at heights.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Problem-solving and attention to detail.
