Regional Health Promotion Focal Point for East and Southern Africa

About the role

MSF Belgium is looking for a Regional Health Promotion Focal Point to support projects across East and Southern Africa from its Nairobi office. The role provides technical guidance, training and mentorship to health promotion teams in Kenya, South Sudan, Ethiopia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver project‑based health promotion and community engagement support, including rapid qualitative assessments and surveys.
• Develop and implement health promotion strategies, tools and training materials for field teams.
• Act as first‑line technical responder for remote queries and ensure alignment with the HP‑CE‑Anthropology framework.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, co‑creation of digital health promotion campaigns and mentorship of junior supervisors.
• Monitor programme performance through regular reporting and contribute to the regional health promotion knowledge base.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, anthropology, social sciences or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in health promotion, community engagement or similar roles within humanitarian or development settings.
• Experience working in East or Southern African contexts is preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to design and conduct rapid qualitative assessments and surveys.
• Proficiency in developing health education, assessment and monitoring tools.
• Experience with digital health promotion campaign design.
