Regional Manager – Microfinance

About the role

The Regional Manager – Microfinance will lead growth, profitability, customer management and portfolio quality across all fulfilment centres offering micro‑finance products in Nairobi. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be accountable for acquisition, retention, collections and overall business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sustainable portfolio growth, set measurable acquisition targets and identify new markets, segments and partnership opportunities.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle with Credit, Debt Recovery, Finance, Operations and Marketing to ensure disbursement, revenue and collection targets are met.
• Provide strong leadership to fulfilment centre team leaders, cascade targets, track productivity and coach staff to achieve high performance.
• Monitor portfolio metrics such as PAR, NPL, roll rates and implement corrective actions to maintain loan book quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a micro‑finance institution as a Regional or Branch Manager with proven record in acquisition, retention, portfolio growth and collections.
• Experience leading multi‑branch teams and working closely with HR on recruitment and talent development.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and reporting systems.
• Strong knowledge of micro‑finance business models, credit lifecycle, collections and portfolio analysis.
