Registrar – Academic Administration (Kenya)

About the role

The Registrar, Kenya will lead and manage the university’s academic administration and student records functions. Reporting to the University Registrar, this senior position ensures the integrity, accuracy, security and regulatory compliance of academic records throughout the student lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead student admissions, recruitment, registration, enrolment, course scheduling, progression and graduation processes.
• Maintain accurate student records and oversee the student information system (AKUROSS).
• Coordinate academic calendars, institutional deadlines, transcript issuance, degree verification and convocation planning.
• Analyse and report student data to support academic decision‑making and strategic initiatives.
• Support programme reviews, accreditation, academic policy implementation and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with faculty, admissions, finance, student affairs and senior leadership.
• Supervise registrar office staff, promote service excellence and drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to university strategic planning, risk management, budgeting and resource allocation.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualifications and substantial experience in university administration or student records management.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
