Relationship Officer – SME

About the role

The SME Relationship Officer is responsible for managing loan portfolios exceeding $200K, acquiring new SME customers, and deepening relationships with existing clients. The role supports the bank’s SME Lending Department by evaluating creditworthiness, processing loan applications, and promoting cross‑selling of banking products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential SME customers through data collection and analysis.
• Promote and cross‑sell bank products and services to both new and existing clients.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and business viability.
• Conduct site visits to verify operations, collateral, and ownership.
• Prepare credit proposals and loan applications in line with bank policy.
• Coordinate with Credit, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams for approval and disbursement.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance before loan drawdown.
• Maintain regular contact with customers to address queries and expand product holdings.
• Monitor credit quality, review regular credit reports, and evaluate PAR balances.
• Coach and mentor newly hired staff and perform other tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in SME or commercial lending.
• Hands‑on experience in customer sourcing and loan processing.
• Strong English reading, writing and speaking skills; Khmer typing ability.
• Ability to interpret data, statistics and governmental regulations.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
