Retail Sales Representative - Professional Pest Management

About the role

Syngenta's Professional Pest Management (PPM) team is looking for an energetic Retail Sales Representative in Nairobi. The role represents Syngenta to distributors and retailers, creating demand and awareness for its PPM products. It covers product stewardship, training, stock monitoring, payment follow-up and maintaining strong relationships with retail channel partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver sustainable sales growth of the PPM portfolio in the assigned sales area
• Build professional relationships with potential and existing retail channel partners
• Act as product expert, recommending products to end users
• Provide training support to retail channel partners and consumers
• Achieve quarterly and yearly revenue targets through solid sales activity plans
• Analyze market opportunities, propose ideas aligned with the Sub-Saharan Africa PPM go-to-market strategy and share market intelligence
• Collaborate with the SPS Technical Manager and Marketing Manager on technical support and marketing campaigns
• Monitor partner performance against the business plan and present products and promotions
• Deliver accurate sales forecasts and plans, follow up on distributor payments and prepare weekly reports and sales analysis

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Agriculture or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of in-field sales experience
• Good technical understanding is an added advantage
• Knowledge of the PPM market, distribution networks, customers and competitors
• Excellent presentation, product demonstration, sales and negotiation skills
• Valid motorbike driving licence and willingness to travel extensively by motorbike are advantageous
