Safety Inspector

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Safety Inspector to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures compliance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers safety standards and promotes a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Safety Program that complies with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, monitor compliance, and prepare detailed inspection and monitoring reports.
• Investigate incidents, produce incident reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Provide safety training and guidance to site personnel and maintain accurate safety documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety inspection or program implementation, preferably in a government or military environment.
• Familiarity with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to pass contract medical and security requirements.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas.

Required skills

• OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety certification or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
• Basic computer applications and safety‑related record‑keeping software.
