Sales Manager - Microfinance (Logbook Lending)

About the role

BrighterMonday Consulting is hiring a Sales Manager for its microfinance business in Nairobi (Westlands). The role drives sales growth and expands the logbook lending portfolio across all branches, providing strategic leadership to the sales function through strategy, team leadership and target achievement. It works closely with Branch Managers and other departments to monitor product performance, strengthen customer relationships and keep the loan portfolio healthy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet organizational and branch targets, grow the logbook lending portfolio and build client, partner and stakeholder relationships.
• Lead field sales, plan and run marketing activations, roadshows, exhibitions and community outreach, and visit branches regularly to support Branch Managers, Sales Team Leaders and Sales Executives.
• Recruit, train and mentor Branch Managers, Sales Team Leaders and Sales Executives; set targets, review performance against KPIs and run coaching sessions.
• Drive the logbook lending product, monitor market trends and competitor activity, and work with Branch Managers to improve product penetration and portfolio quality.
• Ensure sales operations comply with policies and regulations, collaborate with Collections to keep the portfolio healthy and reduce PAR, and recommend process improvements.
• Prepare regular sales, portfolio and branch performance reports for senior management and share business priorities with stakeholders.
