Sales Officer Retail

About the role

The Sales Officer Retail will manage walk‑in customers, provide product information and technical guidance, and drive sales conversions for Safal Group's retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to walk‑in customers, respond to enquiries promptly and provide accurate product details, pricing and recommendations.
• Prepare quotations, confirm payments, capture orders in the ERP system and ensure timely processing with Finance, Production and Dispatch.
• Achieve daily, monthly and annual sales targets while identifying opportunities for repeat business and revenue growth.
• Maintain updated pricing and discount schedules, ensure accurate invoicing and documentation, and monitor personal sales performance.
• Handle customer complaints, resolve issues quickly and maintain a professional sales counter and product display.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or related field; Bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
• At least three years of sales experience, with one year in a retail or customer‑facing role.
• Experience in manufacturing, building materials or steel sector is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP, for order processing and reporting.
