Sales Representative - Paints & Coatings (Mombasa)

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is hiring three Sales Representatives for its Paints & Coatings business in Mombasa, under the supervision of the Area Sales Manager / Depot Manager. The Sales Representative promotes and sells company products, develops new customers, generates demand and achieves sales targets through effective market coverage and customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Visit dealers, distributors, painters, contractors and customers to promote company products.
• Identify new sites, projects, institutions and construction opportunities, and regularly check ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Build relationships with painters, contractors, applicators, developers and other key influencers.
• Generate leads, develop new customers and support dealers in increasing secondary sales and product movement.
• Conduct product presentations, demonstrations and product awareness activities, and recommend suitable products based on customer needs.
• Maintain follow-up with existing and potential customers, revive dormant customers and handle enquiries and complaints professionally.
• Monitor competitor prices, products and market activity, and share market information with the manager.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales, site visits, leads and demand-generation activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field.
• 2-3 years of sales experience in paints, coatings, building materials or a related industry.
• Willingness to travel and work in the field; a valid driving licence is an added advantage.
