Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a leading FMCG company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide financial leadership, strengthen controls, and support profitable growth. The role will report directly to the General Manager and oversee the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations and preparation of management accounts.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, debtors, creditors, inventory and profitability analysis.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, IFRS, governance and internal control requirements.
• Drive ERP utilization and finance process automation.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
• Provide commercial insights to support business and strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• CPA(K) qualification (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, beverages, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing or distribution.
• At least 2 years of experience leading a finance function.

Required skills

• CPA(K) certification.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle or Sage X3.
• Advanced Excel skills, including modelling of margins, pricing, stock, cash flow and working capital.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax and statutory compliance.
