Senior Accounts Executive - Banking

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African region (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan). On behalf of its client, it is recruiting a competent, skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Executive to work in Nairobi, Kenya. The role covers financial transactions, record keeping and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Document financial transactions by entering account information
• Coordinate with banks, manage daily transactions, cheque deposits, posting of entries and bookkeeping
• Analyze accounting options and recommend financial actions
• Audit documents to substantiate financial transactions
• Review accounting entries and ensure compliance with IFRS
• Prepare monthly withholding tax (WHT) and VAT schedules
• Finalize bank reconciliations and post monthly provision entries
• Review the trial balance monthly and ensure there are no pending entries
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Reconcile financial discrepancies and secure financial information through database backups
• Verify documentation and request disbursements for payments
• Answer accounting questions by researching policy and regulations, and keep financial information confidential

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce in Finance
• Experience in banking of the microfinance industry
• CPA-K finalist
• 3 to 5 years of working experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of retail finance
