Senior Backend Engineer – Visa Tech Squad (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a joint Visa‑client tech squad on a 12‑month contract. You will own critical backend domains, design robust solutions and deliver end‑to‑end features for tokenisation, payment integration and provisioning services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend changes for tokenisation, including enrollment flows and host system updates.
• Develop and integrate CyberSource (CYBS) components into the M‑Pay​a payment stack.
• Build backend support for push‑provisioning enhancements, covering secure token storage and notification services.
• Create and maintain logging, monitoring and alerting infrastructure for all initiative‑specific services.
• Execute functional, integration and performance testing, and remediate defects within agreed SLAs.
• Collaborate on API design, documentation and knowledge‑transfer artefacts such as runbooks and onboarding guides.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proven ability to work in agile, fortnightly sprint cycles within a cross‑functional squad.
• Strong analytical skills and a track record of delivering production‑ready services.
