Senior Electrical Designer

About the role

This position is for a Senior Electrical Designer who develops, checks and coordinates electrical design deliverables for industrial and manufacturing facility projects. The role covers 3D modelling, 2D drawing production, design reviews and coordination with other disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, check and coordinate electrical design deliverables for industrial and manufacturing facility projects
• Use Aveva E3D for electrical 3D design, model coordination, elevation cuts, design reviews and drawing extraction
• Prepare 2D electrical drawings in AutoCAD from E3D model extracts, engineering input, field information and project standards
• Design layouts, equipment arrangements, raceway and cable routing, junction boxes, lighting plans, grounding plans, control room layouts, single-line diagrams, motor control schematics and installation details
• Use Navisworks and E3D to review models, identify interferences and support interdisciplinary coordination
• Apply strong familiarity with NFPA 70 and the National Electrical Code to industrial electrical design
• Support drawing checks, redline incorporation, field walkdowns, construction questions and as-built updates

Required profile

• Advanced proficiency with Aveva E3D for design, model navigation, coordination, drawing extraction and 2D background development
• High proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks and Microsoft Office
• Strong familiarity with NFPA 70 and the National Electrical Code
• Experience designing junction boxes, sizing electrical and control cables, and producing lighting, grounding, control room, single-line and motor control schematic drawings
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive electrical design experience on industrial, manufacturing, chemical, power or similar projects preferred
• Ability to work independently, coordinate across disciplines and meet project schedules

Preferred qualifications

• Associate degree, technical diploma or equivalent experience in electrical design, drafting, engineering technology or a related field
• Formal training or certification in Aveva E3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, electrical drafting or industrial design technology
• Proficiency with DIALux or AGI32 lighting modelling software
• Experience in multidisciplinary EPC, engineering or design-build environments
